The operation, which would reach $50 billion, would give a boost to Disney's entry into the online business after the recent acquisitions of Bam Tech Solutions and PlayBuzz.

Netflix

Although Disney has not yet officially confirmed or denied anything, the truth is that the leak that the entertainment multinational had put the online content distribution platform in its sights has served to make Netflix's shares skyrocket, revaluing by 6% in the last 48 hours.

The brand, founded in 1998, has gained strength in recent years as one of the most important streaming entertainment services worldwide, with just over 80 million subscribers worldwide (in the United States alone it has more than 47 million subscribers).

Last April, the company signed an exclusive contract with Disney to offer the catalog of its films as well as the content of its brands such as Lucasfilm and Marvel.

If this operation finally materializes, Disney would position itself in the distribution of online content in line with the recent acquisitions of Bam Tech Solutions (dedicated to web development) for about 1 billion dollars and the Israeli PlayBuzz (design of content platforms) for 13 million dollars.

Taking into account Netflix's stock price, the purchase could rise to $50 billion, a third of Disney's stock market capitalization.
