Europe will have animation awards similar to the Annie Awards
Damián Perea and José Luis Farias will be, on behalf of Spain, the ambassadors at the European Animation Émile Awards.
This year the European Animation Awards will be presented for the first time, awards that were created with the aim of rewarding the animation industry and becoming the main event in 40 countries.
Along with Perea, José Luis Farias, creator and director of 3D Wire, International Animation, Video Games and New Media Market, creator and co-director of Bridging the Gap – Animation Lab and director of FIAM, Medellín Animation Festival, will also be an ambassador for these awards. He is also an advisor and collaborates with various international entities and events such as Cartoon, Annecy, Chilemonos or the University of Athems. At the same time, he develops his role as a producer through Paramotion Films, an audiovisual production company dedicated to animated films, digital post-production and audiovisual training since 2002.
The European Animation Émile Awards aims to be established as an event that seeks to celebrate once a year the existence and work of all those who contribute to the creativity, vitality and success of the film industry in each of its forms and states. They thus become the time of year where all European animation professionals meet to celebrate with the same great pride; artists and technicians, the excellence of the European animation industry.
During the 42nd edition of the Annie Awards organized by the International Animated Film Society, Didier Brunner was impressed by the vitality and dynamism of this event that brings together all the professions that come together in the animation industry as well as its genres and all types of talents.
Thus the idea arose that old Europe, the other animation continent, would also organize its own “animation pride” day. There is a wealth of European talent emerging from their own schools or their own studios and contributing to the creativity and reputation of European animation.
