Globecast appoints Sylvain Merle as CTO

Globecast has appointed Sylvain Merle as new CTO assuming overall responsibility for ensuring the company's technical and economic approach to customers is aligned with the latest industry developments.

Your roles will include managing the centres, developing strategic partnerships and contributing to technological advances such as IT architecture and storage, headends, WAN, LAN and CDN.

Philippe Bernard, CEO of Globecast, said Sylvain will bring "a wealth of industry knowledge and leadership skills to his new role, including 25 years of experience in broadcast architecture, OTT, non-linear distribution, streaming, IPTV and IT. With such an impressive background, I know he will be an incredible asset to our business to continue delivering the high value our customers expect."

An electronics engineer, Sylvain joins Globecast from BeIn Media Group where he worked as the company's technical director for several years. Prior to that, he held several senior technical positions at companies including Fox International Channels, TV5Monde and Thomson Broadcast Systems.
