UA27x6.5B: Fuji will debut its new 4K studio zoom at NAB 2017
With a 27x zoom and 6.5mm wide angle, the new studio lens provides exceptionally clear, vibrant and optically accurate Ultra High Definition images.
The optical devices division of Fujifilm will present the new UA27x6.5B 4K studio lens at NAB 2017. The latest 2/3 zoom in the Premier UA series is designed specifically for broadcast applications in Ultra High Definition environments.
With a 27x zoom and 4K capabilities, the UA27.6.5B lens is ideal for studio production. Additionally, its 6.5mm wide-angle focal length also makes it suitable for live events such as music concerts and sporting events.
The UA27x joins the new handheld zooms, the UA14x4.5B and UA18x5.5B, along with the UA13x4.5B and UA22x8B lenses. The UA80x9 and UA107x8.4 field lenses complete this series.
The UA27x studio lens offers edge-to-edge 4K optical quality for 2/3-inch cameras with a focal length of 6.5-180mm and a built-in extender, doubling its focal length.
It offers the highest resolution, high contrast, and high dynamic range, trademarks of all Fuji 4K and 4K PLUS UA series lenses. It employs the latest High Transmittance Electron Beam Coating (HT-EBC), resulting in richer colors and improved blue response and transmittance. HT-EBC, together with Fujifilm's exclusive Aspheric technology, reduces ghost and flare effects and increases light transmission. The latest optical simulation technology was used in the optical design of the lenses to prevent resolution degradation around the edges and aberrations, thus achieving 4K image quality across the entire zoom range. A close to circle aperture shape thanks to the adoption of nine aperture blades provides a more natural bokeh.
Tom Fletcher, sales director of Fujifilm's optical devices division, highlights that “the images produced by the UA27x are exceptionally clear, vibrant and optically accurate 4K images.”
The lens is equipped with 16-bit encoders, capable of high-resolution output of lens data, including zoom and focal position information. This is especially useful in virtual studio applications or when combining CG images with live images.
