Channel On HbbTv 4K

The Andalusian Canal Sur has added 4K content to its HbbTv services. The new application, developed by Tmira Solutions in collaboration with Axion and Canal Sur, adds 4K content to RTVA's HbbTV services, which already include live broadcasts, access to FlamencoRadio's complete discography and the reproduction of news, TV and radio programs.

RTVA's new HbbTV application includes a 4K content section that allows its viewers to enjoy a series of high-quality documentaries shot in Ultra High Definition and which are the result of Canal Sur's commitment to 4K production in Andalusia. In order to enjoy these contents, you need to tune in to some of the RTVA channels with a television with UHD and HEVC technology, as well as a recommended Internet connection of at least 100 Mbps.

This new 4K section complements the extensive functionality of the HbbTV service that Axión provides to RTVA for all its DTT channels. The portal, designed by Canal Sur and developed by Tmira Solutions, provides access to content from a wide variety of television and radio programs, including provincial news and news. The HbbTV service also allows RTVA to offer its accessible channel live and provide access to the complete discography that FlamencoRadio makes available to its listeners.

Since the first proposal to offer HbbTV on Canal Sur, Tmira Solutions has collaborated closely with Axión and both with RTVA throughout the service value chain, to carry out this service that currently reaches all viewers in Andalusia. Axión has provided its engineering and experience in broadcast services and Tmira Solutions has provided its products and knowledge, from the manufacturing of the servers that signal the HbbTV service to the development of the application, including the management and hosting of the videos and live signals.

Canal Sur's desire to offer Andalusians content in Ultra HD has materialized both in the development of this 4K application for its HbbTV platform and in the realization of its first test broadcast of 4K content over DVB-T2, which was launched on the occasion of the latest edition of the 4K-UHD Summit held in Seville in November of last year.
