Final degree student of Aerospace Engineering at the University of León, will benefit from financial aid of 5,000 euros. The company thus wants to promote the presence of female talent in engineering areas in order to be able to have more women working in this sector in the future.

Ten candidates attended the call, of which eight were students of Aerospace Engineering and two of Telecommunications Engineering. The winner was Laura González Llamazares, a final year student of Aerospace Engineering at the University of León, who has a record with a notable average grade and a resume full of experiences and activities both in the academic field and in various innovation and technology projects in different groups and associations.

The jury, met on June 9, was made up of Eugenio Fontán, dean of the Official College of Telecommunications Engineers; Laura Barco, representing Estefanía Matesanz, dean of the Official College of Aeronautical Engineers; and, on behalf of Hispasat, Antonio Abad, technical and operations director; Ignacio Sanchís, Business Director; Miguel Táuler, director of Resources and Organization, and Cristina Perez Cantó, director of Communication.

The jury has highly valued the candidate's enthusiasm and entrepreneurial spirit, her initiative and leadership capacity, her practice in project management, her interest in innovation, her international experience and her vocation for the space sector. For all these reasons, added to her good academic record, the jury has unanimously decided to award the scholarship to Laura González Llamazares.

This scholarship has a financial award of 5,000 euros so that an Engineering student can carry out postgraduate studies in a qualifying master's degree in Aeronautical or Telecommunications Engineering, in the space field. On an annual basis, it aims to promote the presence of female talent in the technological field and thus contribute both to the professional development of women in these studies and to the increase in the number of women in the space sector.
