Fiber optic lines to the home (FTTH) already surpass DSL lines
There are now 5.7 million homes that have an FTTH fiber line. 56.1% of these lines correspond to Movistar.
The total number of FTTH fiber lines exceeded 5.7 million, after adding 107,712 more lines in July. 56.1% of these lines correspond to Movistar. On the contrary, DSL and HFC lines experienced a notable decrease by reducing their number by 101,701 and 24,292 units respectively. These are data for the month of July 2017 collected by the National Markets and Competition Commission.
With these results, in the last 12 months, FTTH lines have added 1.6 million while DSL lines have lost 1.2 million compared to last year. For the first time, FTTH lines (5.7 million) exceed DSL lines (5.6 million) in Spain. 93.5% of the total lines are concentrated in the three main operators, Movistar, Orange and Vodafone.
Wholesale fixed broadband
Indirect access lines increased by 65,466 units in the month of July, of which the NEBA service incorporated 40,314 new lines. In such a way that it accumulates 665,473 lines, of which 576,268 are fiber.

Banda ancha móvil minorista
En cuanto al parque de voz con banda ancha móvil, julio terminó con 41,4 millones de líneas, un 6,7% más que el mismo periodo de 2016. Durante este mes se sumaron 520.147 líneas nuevas (237.580 de pospago y 282.567 de pospago).
La cifra de las líneas exclusivas de datos fue de 1,7 millones con una penetración, considerando también las líneas de voz con banda ancha móvil, de 92,8 líneas por cada 100 habitantes, 5,6 puntos más que hace un año.

Mobile telephony
Regarding mobile telephony, the line fleet added 288,339 new lines in July. Both postpaid and prepaid lines grew. The first in 164,696 units and the second in 123,643.
The month ended with 51.6 million mobile lines, 1% more than a year ago. On a year-on-year basis, the prepaid modality decreased by 8.5%, while the postpaid modality grew by 4.3%.
In July, 523,532 mobile numbers were ported, which is 11.9% more than in the same month of 2016.
