Mediapro internationalizes its activity in eSports
Better television production, professionalization of the competition and greater distribution of content distinguish the Professional Video Game League (LVP), which is now open to players from all over the world with locations for Portugal, Mexico and Argentina.
Mediapro has launched a plan to internationalize its e-sports activity. Portugal and Latin America are the first target markets to export the successful model of the Professional Video Game League (LVP), which has established itself as the competition with the most followers in Spain. In the first instance, the LVP has opened its amateur gaming platform, ArenaGG, to players from all over the world with locations for Portugal, Mexico and Argentina. For the next season, the organization of the first professional competitions is planned in all these countries and it is planned that the activities of the LVP will also extend to Colombia, Chile, the United States and other European countries. Better television production, professionalization of the competition and greater distribution of content distinguish the LVP from other electronic sports competitions. With this internationalization plan, Mediapro is committed to this sector, involving all its headquarters and lines of activity.
The internationalization of the ArenaGG platform began, in the testing phase, a few weeks ago and at the moment it already has more than 27,000 registered users in Argentina and Mexico, who have played more than 30,000 games and 35,000 users who have played almost 30,000 games in Portugal. The previous and qualifying phases of the Clash Royale Gamergy Masters will be organized on this platform, one of the most prestigious international tournaments of the Supercell title. The 16 finalists will meet in Madrid from December 15 to 17 at Gamergy, the great electronic sports party organized by the LVP, and will compete in the grand final.
The previous phases of the Gamergy Masters in Latin America will have two national qualifiers whose finals will be held in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Mexico City (Mexico), and a third place will be disputed between players who compete from the rest of the Latin American countries and who will play exclusively online.
In 2018, the organization of regular leagues of the main games present in the LVP is planned in these countries (Clash Royale, LOL, Call of Duty y CS:GO), of which LVP also broadcasts international competitions and events in Spanish, such as the League of Legends Championship Series or the Call of Duty World League.
The integration of LVP into the Mediapro group has meant an important qualitative leap for the most important eSports platform in Spain through its Superliga Orange competition, translating into audience records with more than 5 million viewers each month and more than 270,000 registered users on its platform. The recent inauguration of a new television set at the Mediapro facilities in Barcelona for live competitions with an audience opens up new possibilities for entertainment formats that will continue to make this audience grow and vibrate.
