The test, which involved more than 2,500 people from the Atos team, the PyeongChang Organizing Committee, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and other technology partners, simulated the three busiest days of the Games in hundreds of predefined operational scenarios.

The second technical rehearsal is designed to ensure that personnel, technology and procedures are fully prepared to respond to any situation. It also provides the opportunity for journalists and broadcasters to familiarize themselves with information systems and to ensure that they will have all the information they need to broadcast the Winter Olympic Games to billions of television viewers around the world. The tests were carried out for 15 sports disciplines in 12 different locations. All competitions were simulated in real spaces and in conditions very similar to those of the Games.

Marc Gutiérrez Aguilar, Atos Chief Integrator Officer for PyeongChang 2018, commented that "these technical tests are an essential part of our preparation for the Games. We have already completed 100,000 hours of successful testing to ensure that we are ready to offer the first Olympic Games organized 100% in the cloud."
