Interxion unveils its new MAD3 data center at BIT

The new data center that Interxion is building in Madrid, with a budget of 44 million, will be available in the second quarter of 2019 and will provide access to more than 90 carriers, ISPs, CDNs and the ESpanix and DE-CIX neutral points.

The specialized provider of neutral data centers, Interxion, is present in BIT Audiovisual 2018 to unveil MAD3, its third data center in Madrid that is currently under construction.

In addition to this center, the company is currently also building the second data center in Brussels (“BRU2”) and will expand the existing ones in Amsterdam, Paris, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Vienna.

With this new center, Interxion aims to respond to the growing pace of cloud adoption with demand coming from multiple communities of interest.

The new MAD3, in which 44 million euros will be invested, will have 2,500 m² and 5 MW of power. Located next to Interxion's two data centers in Madrid, MAD3 will enter service in the second quarter of 2019 and will be redundantly connected to Interxion's own fiber ring, providing access to more than 90 carriers, ISPs, CDNs and the ESPanix and DE-CIX neutral points. The investment associated with MAD3, including the purchase of the land, will reach approximately 44 million euros.

MAD3 will have a wide range of space options to meet needs, included or metered electrical power and cold aisle enclosure as standard. Twenty years of experience guarantee Interxion to offer consistent design and operational excellence in its data centers.

Furthermore, thanks to Cloud Connect will provide high-performance, secure VLAN connectivity to multiple clouds such as Azure, AWS, Oracle, and IBM Cloud over a physical connection.
