COMduit provides a video, audio, intercom and data transport and distribution solution for remote production in mobile units, with the simplicity and latency of fiber.

Clear-Com COMduit

Clear-Com launches on the market COMduit, an interesting fiber-based solution for transporting audio and video between control rooms, mobile units or any other remote location. The solution provides a template for a range of products required for the remote production. It is based on the multiplexor MUX-22 signal BroaMan, in the products of audio and video transport ProGrid and LQ, both from Clear-Com, for IP intercom. Users simply deploy the products they need to solve their specific AV transport requirements in remote production.

Simon Browne, vice president of product management at Clear-Com, highlights that "Clear-Com IP and BroaMan create easy integration and control between the two companies' leading audio and video solutions. These fiber transport template solutions provide truly integrated transport and distribution solutions for video, audio, intercom and data for remote production in mobile units, with the simplicity and latency of fiber."

The solution is presented with three presets (Truck, Booth and Field) that They require only electrical power and two duplex single-mode fiber cables. BroaMan devices are configured so that multiple IP and fiber networks are multiplexed for transport using a single ductile fiber cable.

Rom Rosenblum, application engineer at Clear-Com, notes that "all necessary signals are transmitted and received through these two connections; eight channels of HD video, up to 768 channels of audio, and a copper-based network of LQ devices with multiple Clear-Com or RTS intercom connections. These various networks are combined using the multiplexing abilities of BroaMan products with the Optocore audio network or multiplexed with point-to-point video connections and networks. Ethernet built into it. The system is designed to support IFB, cue, video preview, audio mixing, timecode, GPIO control and any other audio channel as required.”
