The brothers K. and J. Prada win the 10th RNE Short Film Contest with their work 'Arrive'

'16 weeks' and 'A day in the park', achieve second and third place respectively. 'Happy ending', by Fernando González Gómez, wins the Audience Award.

He X RNE Cutting Competition, organized in collaboration with the General Society of Authors and Editors (SGAE), already has a winner for this edition. The brothers K. and J. Prada They have been chosen for their short film Arrive, chosen among the 114 original and free-themed proposals that public radio has admitted in the tenth call of its Short Film Contest. The work, starring Violeta Orgaz and Raquel Pérez, shows a mother's fight to get her daughter back.

The prize consists of 3,000 euros that the winner agrees to reinvest in a film production to be exhibited the following year and a special showing of the short film on TVE, as stated in the rules of the contest, which throughout its nine editions has received more than 1,000 short films.

In second position has been 16 weeks, of Carlota Coronado, which talks about motherhood as a cause of employment discrimination. Diego Porral has achieved third place with A day in the park, an animated short that imagines how the technological gap between generations will be experienced in the not-so-distant future.

The jury was made up of Joan Álvarez, general director of the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences; Ignacio Armada, Audiovisual coordinator of the SGAE Foundation; Gonzalo Salazar-Simpson, producer and director of the Madrid School of Cinematography and Audiovisual (ECAM); Itsaso Arana, actress; María del Puy, producer; Lluvia Rojo, actress, and Yolanda Flores, director of the from movie.

For the second consecutive year, users of the Spanish National Radio website have had the opportunity to choose their favorite short film among the 10 finalists. Happy ending, of Fernando González Gómez, has taken the Audience Award after obtaining 35% of the votes cast by Internet users. The short reflects, in a comical way, that “romance was always much simpler in the movies.”

The awards ceremony will be held on June 19 at 6 pm in the Sala Berlanga in Madrid, where a special program of from movie which will be broadcast in the early hours of June 22 to 23.
