Telecinco begins in Soria the recording of ‘El Pueblo’, new comedy of Alberto Caballero, Julián Sastre and Nando Abad
The series, which will be filmed entirely in natural and urban locations in the province of Soria, addresses in humor the adaptation of a group of urbanites to the hard Castilian country environment after installed in a semi -abandoned town.
Telecinco and Contubernio They have begun to record a project endorsed by the extensive experience in the genre of their creators, architects of the comedy The one that is coming.
Created by Alberto Caballero, Julián Sastre and Nando Abad and with the support in the scripts of Daniel Deorador and Araceli Álvarez de Sotomayor, The people He tells the story of a group of urbanites who decide to settle in a semi -abandoned village in Castile with the dream of enjoying a higher quality of life in a small town and with a less crazy rhythm than that of the city. However, their adaptation to the environment and their relationships with their new neighbors will not always be easy, circumstances that will weave a fun account of ‘fish out of water’ and will show the singularities and contradictions between the urban world and the rural world.
Alberto Caballero explains that the original idea of the series emerged "because mine is a stressed generation and with escapist fantasies, with a typical phrase that is a gag running:‘ One day I send everything to shit and I will live on the beach or the field "and add that the starting point of the plots arises from the formulation of a question:" If you really made that change of life, what would you really do?
The series is also “our first collaboration project with a group of comedy screenwriters with a lot of experience, such as Julián Sastre and Nando Abad. Creatively it is being interesting and it is also fun to be living in the same‘ decorated ’where you do the series. A special environment is created”.
Santi Millán (‘Chiringuito de Pepe’), Carlos Areces (‘Sad trumpet’), Ingrid Rubio (Goya Award for Best Revelation Actress for ‘Beyond the Garden’ in 1997) and María Hervás (‘Gym Tony’) heads the artistic team of this new fiction, which also has the participation of Ruiz Norma (‘I am I am’) Cold ’), Daniel Pérez Prada (‘ Carlos, King Emperor ’), Ruth Díaz (Goya nominated for Goya for the best actress revelation per‘ afternoon for anger ’in 2017), Elisa drabben (‘ Los Totenwackers ’), Felipe Vélez (nominated for the Goya for the best secondary actor for‘ In exchange for nothing ’in 2016) Hunters ’), Blanca Rodríguez (‘ Four stations in Havana ’), Ángel Jodrá (‘ Tell me how it happened ’), Vicente Gil (‘ Scarlet tip ’), Impar Ferrer (‘ Amar is forever ’), Javier Losán (‘ Without tits there is no paradise ’) and Jordi Vilches (nominated for the Goya for the best actor revelation by‘ Krampack ’in 20000).
Alberto and Laura Caballero and Roberto Monge (‘Aída’) are in charge of the direction of this existentialist comedy, which will be filmed entirely in natural and urban scenarios of the province of Soria. "The greatest advantage of shooting all in natural scenarios is realism. There is not a single plane inside set and I don't think there is," explains Alberto Caballero. "Soria meets all the requirements for the recording of‘ the people ’: aesthetics, low population and the wonderful predisposition of its people."
It also considers that this movement back to the peoples "is a cry of relief of the people, since this urban life - stressful, noisy, uncomfortable and overcrowded - does not feel good to anyone."
Civility
Personal dissatisfaction, the economic crisis and the search for inspiration and tranquility are some of the reasons that lead to a diverse group of urbanities to leave the city to set their residence in Peñafría, a Sorian town threatened by the depopulation that offers all kinds of facilities to newcomers. There they will have to initiate a coexistence in community, adapt to very different customs and forge a new life.
The acclimatization in the style of that new rural environment will not be easy for outsiders, since they will have to face multiple difficulties in agricultural and livestock issues, as well as rivalries, hatreds, friendships and unexpected love.
The new neighbors who will arrive in Peñafría will be Moncho (Santi Millán), Ruth (Ingrid Rubio), Pablo (Raúl Fernández), Nacho (Daniel Pérez Prada), ISA (Ruiz Norma),
Laura (Ruth Díaz), Macarena (Elisa Drabben), Juanjo (Carlos Areces), Amaya (María Hervás), Elisa (Blanca Rodríguez), Gustavo (Jairo Sánchez), Echegui (Felipe Vélez) and Chicho (Jordi Vilches).
