Telestream launches the new generation of G6 Lightspeed servers
Designed specifically for Vantage systems, the new server delivers up to ten times the processing speed of software-only workflows while consuming 40% less power.
Telestream has announced its new servidor G6 Lightspeed, the fastest and highest quality server ever available for the Vantage Intelligent Media Processing. Designed specifically for Vantage systems, the new server delivers up to ten times the processing speed of software-only workflows while consuming 40% less power than previous generation servers.
Scott Murray, vice president of product management at Telestream, highlights that "our G6 server enables Vantage workflows to process more media than ever before. Faster, more efficient servers mean more money saved, fewer resources used and a higher quality experience for both the end customer and our customers."
For organizations seeking the fastest possible media processing for high-resolution 4K and HD content, the G6 Lightspeed features 14 dual-core Intel
The G6 joins the G5 Lightspeed server that was unveiled this year at NAB. The Lightspeed G5 Server strikes a balance between media processing power and price and represents the perfect solution for GPU-accelerated Vantage workflows.
In addition to H.264/265 encoding, the new Lightspeed Server G6 accelerates other computationally intensive image processing processes within Vantage workflows, including upscaling, deinterlacing, frame rate conversion, motion vector calculation, and other tasks that require computation and analysis to modify or create new video frames. Faster video preprocessing acceleration benefits the output quality of all video output formats, both for transcoding and in post-production environments.
Telestream has achieved significant improvements in power consumption while reducing transcoding times for individual and simultaneous jobs. Housed in an efficient 1 RU chassis, the Lightspeed G6 server reduces rack space, power, and cooling requirements while meeting needs for higher output capacity.
