Roberto Sánchez Sánchez, new general director of Telecommunications and Information Technologies
Telecommunications Engineer, he currently held the position of director of Innovation and Promotion of the City at the Madrid City Council.
The Council of Ministers this Friday, June 29, has appointed Roberto Sánchez Sánchez as the new general director of Telecommunications and Information Technologies, at the proposal of the Ministry of Economy and Business.
A Telecommunications Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Sánchez is a career civil servant in the Higher Body of Information Systems and Technologies of the General State Administration.
He currently held the position of director of Innovation and Promotion of the City at the Madrid City Council.
He has previously held responsibilities in various public organizations such as the General Secretariat of Science, the General Secretariat of Innovation and the General Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Technologies.
In the private sector, among other positions, he has been general director of A-CING and director of Technology at Ono. In 1999 he was chosen “Engineer of the Year” by the Official College of Telecommunications Engineers. In 2012 it was awarded the “Plaque of Merit in Telecommunications”.
