The ICAA will identify and reinforce the productions that benefit from aid with the new seal “It is Spanish Cinema”
For the general director of the ICAA, Beatríz Navas, "Spain produces films in languages that are not the official ones of our State and co-produces many films with other countries, which is why they sometimes go unnoticed by the media and society. When they are filmed abroad, or in another language, or with a director who is not Spanish, they are not associated with our cinema, but behind them there are Spanish production companies and professionals who know how to navigate an industry and a market broader than the national one. This seal has been created to give to know this reality and value the capacity of the Spanish film sector to expand its field of action, to be competitive, to adapt to a more global world.”
Use and utilization
Given the growing encouragement of co-productions and the production of films in other languages, the ICAA includes this seal to create its own identity and achieve greater brand positioning of Spanish cinematography in foreign markets but, without a doubt, also in the national market.
The seal will be included in films in which Spanish participation is the majority, including it before the credits.
