The new HTML5 cloud traffic and planning solution comes to IBC from VSN
VSNExplorer MAM with integrated Artificial Intelligence tools, the new VSNCrea for traffic management and planning or the VSN solution for news production from a single workspace, are some of the new features presented by VSN.
VSN is presenting in IBC 2018, VSNCrea, your new tool traffic cloud and planning and the version Cloud y HTML5 of your tool VSNCreaTV.
Visitors to the fair can see a first approximation of VSN's traffic management and programming software for television, radio and second screens and discover its functions for the management of the content production catalog, both its own and acquired from third parties, in addition to the management of advertising, programming and broadcast planning, all from a single interface.
Toni Vilalta, Product Manager of VSN, highlights that "VSNCrea is being completely redesigned to offer professionals in the sector a new, modern and easy-to-use interface, which allows them to make quick and accurate decisions about the broadcast of specific content thanks to its functions and workflows unified in a single interface. In addition, VSNCrea will also provide extra useful information, such as analytics about the performance and profitability of each content."
In addition to a more intuitive interface, the HTML5 version allows users to customize the software according to the needs of each client, all through custom metadata and its integration with third-party products and services.
For its part, Oriol Aegean, VSN Solutions Architect, states that "one of the direct benefits of the tool and, without a doubt, one of the main improvements compared to the old VSNCreaTV, is that the new HTML5 version is accessible at any time and from any browser or device, allowing several users to access simultaneously. In addition, the possibility of implementing the tool in the cloud will improve the ability for teamwork between different departments and users."
The system, which will be available to clients in 2019, can be used by television networks, radio stations and web TV platforms for planning and traffic, schedule scheduling, advertising management and control of broadcasting rights acquired from third parties, among others. Other notable functions will be the possibility of changing the language from the user interface, the consolidation of the final broadcast and the analysis of the profitability or ROI of programming and content through reports and analytics. VSNCrea has been designed, above all, to improve the efficiency and flexibility of broadcast sector professionals, allowing them to organize and control the programming of their channels at all times.
Artificial intelligence
VSN presents at IBC 2018 its new Artificial Intelligence tools integrated into VSNExplorer MAM, as well as its unified solution for news production from a single work environment, thanks to the implementation, among others, of Wedit and its new Plugin for NRCS.
Thus, these tools are accessible directly from the cataloging view of the media asset management solution.
On the other hand, the company also presents its unified solution for news production, which allows for the complete production of the news from a single work environment, without changing windows. This is possible thanks to the implementation of four VSN systems: VSNExplorer MAM, VSNLivecom, Wedit, now with new audio editing and voiceover features, and VSNExplorer Plugin for NRCS, one of the latest solutions developed by the company.
The VSNExplorer Media Asset Management (MAM) software has been integrated via API with the artificial intelligence (AI) from IBM Watson, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure and Etiqmedia for automatic metadata detection. The integration of VSNExplorer MAM with these tools ensures that media management is more efficient, accurate and easier to use, allowing greater control over all content, whether available in storage or ingested, and reducing the time and costs required to obtain higher quality content.
These new capabilities enable automatic detection of metadata directly from the media, which can be accessed from the VSNExplorer MAM cataloging view. Metadata can refer to the characteristics of the file, such as the format, size or creation date, but also to its content, cataloging the media files and each of their segments based on the information captured from the video (image processing, object detection and contextual information), the audio layer (speech to text, transcription and translation of text, or audio effect detection), the actions performed, their main sentiment (positive, negative or neutral) and even the people who appear in the content (recognition of faces).
Inbound News Production
At IBC we can also see the new solution Inbound News Production It focuses especially on easing the user's workload and allowing them to be more creative, rather than focusing on the “story” behind the news.
Following the implementation of three VSN systems (VSNExplorer MAM with Wedit, the VSNLivecom studio automation plugin and VSNExplorer for NRCS, a MOS Media Bus fully developed in HTML5), the Inbound News Production solution provides users a single workspace to prepare their news, guiding them through the entire news production process, from ingestion to broadcast, without changing windows.
It allows journalists to quickly search for content through the MAM system, edit video files, consolidate them with graphics and submit the final story for broadcast, all within the NRCS graphical user interface for journalists.
