Zixi implements the Reliable Internet Stream Transport (RIST) specification

RIST promotes an interoperable standard for transporting live video content in real time at low latency over unmanaged networks, including the Public Internet.

Zixi will adopt the emerging initiative RIST (Reliable Internet Stream Transport) which is being developed by members of the Video Services Forum. The VSF is an international association of service providers, users and manufacturers dedicated to interoperability, quality metrics and education for media networking technologies.

RIST promotes an interoperable standard for transporting live video content in real time at low latency over unmanaged networks, including the Public Internet.

There are currently many successful solutions available to achieve this goal, but they are manufacturer-specific and not interoperable.

Zixi, continuing a long history of championing and adopting open standards such as MPEG-DASH, MMT, SMPTE 2022-2 and 2022-7 (RTP), has drawn on more than twelve years of experience delivering Emmy Award-winning mission-critical solutions to prominent media companies, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and service providers to be major contributors to the RIST Specification.

Zixi has been actively involved in the development of RIST to ensure future interoperability with new customers as well as the company's existing 350+ facility base around the world. Without affecting the recommendation, Zixi's enhanced RIST combines forward error correction, retransmission, and congestion avoidance in an efficient manner.

With RIST Zixi Broadcaster, TR 101 Network Analytics, Content Quality Analytics, 99.9 reliability failover, network bonding, ubiquitous view and the reporting that Zixi ZEN Master provides, the company's robust platform will be enriched.
