A new series to give voice to all the stories of the Camino de Santiago framed in the Xacobeo 2021, which will be available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video

Presentation of 3Caminos

The Council of Galicia has just presented the first transmedia and international series of the Camino de Santiago, 3 Caminos, in which he participates. It will be released on the occasion of James 2021 and will be produced by Fiction Productions.

The series, which will premiere at the end of 2020, will explore the experiences of several young people who connect on the Camino de Santiago, and how they develop together. In this way, the series echoes the thousands of stories that happen and have happened on the Camino over the years. For this reason, the Camino and all its scenarios become another protagonist of this fiction.

Five people from different countries coincide thanks to the Camino and begin a common story of personal discovery that will end up meeting them again in three moments of their lives: 1996, 2006 and 2021. Moments in which the five protagonists come together again to go on a pilgrimage. The audience will witness the development, growth and changes of their lives through flashbacks and flashforwards. Different moments of five lives that are assimilated to those that pass along the Camino, and allow viewers to identify with the stories that occurred.

“We intend to tell that the Camino is an evolution, a way of life that magnifies the traveler internally and unites him forever to something supernatural, kind and enriching,” he says. Mamen Quintas from Fiction Productions.

Filming in six languages

3Caminos will move to general and regional windows, and will be an international series filmed in all the countries of origin of the protagonists, although most of the series will focus on Galicia and the Camino, from San Pied de Port to Santiago de Compostela, reaching Muros.

The filming will be carried out in six languages: English, German, Korean, Italian, Spanish and Galician, so it will have great international dissemination thanks to the participation of the group Beta Films in charge of the broadcast of the series in Germany and Italy. In the rest of the countries, the series will also premiere exclusively in Amazon Prime Video with the exception of South Korea, Chile and Mexico where there will be a greater presence on other channels.

During the press conference held in Santiago de Compostela, the first names of the team that will shape the series were announced, such as Norberto López Amado y Gregor Schmitzler who will be the directors of the series. The soundtrack will go hand in hand with the Galicians Ivan Ferreiro y Manu Riveiro. It will be completed with a mostly Galician technical team that will be responsible for making the series. While a splendid international, national and Galician cast will give life to the characters.
