He Parliament of Andalusia has chosen the journalist Juan de Dios Mellado as new general director of Radio and Television of Andalusia, with 91 votes in favor and 17 blank from Adelante Andalucía. The members of the Board of Directors of Canal Sur and those of the Audiovisual Council of Andalusia have also been elected.

The vote in the ballot boxes for the election of the members of the two bodies took place a few hours after the Chamber's Appointments Advisory Committee, before which all the candidates appeared to defend their careers, confirmed their suitability by assent.

Mellado, until now general director of Social Communication of the Board, will replace the head of the RTVA Joaquin Duran, who directed Canal Sur on an interim basis for more than five years, while the journalist Antonio Checa He will preside over the Audiovisual Council, replacing Emelina Fernández.

For his part, the journalist Rafael Porras, proposed by the PP, will be the president of the RTVA Board of Directors, a body that will also be made up of Mariví Romero, former deputy and former councilor of the Malaga City Council, also proposed by the PP.

Representing the PSOE, the party's former national deputy and secretary of Rural World, Agrarian Policy and Fisheries, Antonio Pradas; the Secretary of Organization in Almería, Antonio Martinez, and the former regional representative Olga Manzano.

By Ciudadanos they have been appointed Ivan Tarin, linked to private communication companies, and the journalist Immaculate Drag, while those elected to represent Adelante Andalucía and Vox have been the journalists Esther Fernandez y Carlos Morillas, respectively.

For the Audiovisual Council of Andalusia, which will be chaired by Antonio Checa, the journalists have been appointed Joaquin Duran y María Luisa Suero and the former deputy Amalia Rodriguez, the three proposed by the PSOE.

Journalists have been appointed by the PP Mateo Risquez y Pilar Jimeno, and for Ciudadanos the journalist is also Paulino Garcia, while representing Adelante Andalucía will be the theater director and scriptwriter Pilar Távora, and on the part of Vox Ana Millan, communication director of the Spanish Association against Cancer.

The new president of the Audiovisual Council, Antonio Checa, has obtained 108 favorable votes, the same as the rest of those elected for both bodies, except Mariví Romero (PP), Carlos Morillas (Vox), Mateo Rísquez (PP), Paulino García (Ciudadanos) and Ana Millán (Vox), who have obtained 107.
