Juande Mellado

The general director of Radio and Television of Andalusia (RTVA), Juande Mellado, takes possession of the rotating presidency of the Federation of Autonomous Radio and Television Organizations (FORCE) for a period of six months.

Mellado succeeds Raquel Fuertes, general director of the Aragonese Radio and Television Corporation (CARTV), who has been in charge of FORTA for the last six months. The management carried out by Fuertes, which has coincided with the 35th anniversary of FORTA, has been positively valued by the General Board, which has also welcomed Juande Mellado to the presidency of the Federation for the next six months.

Juande Mellado was already president of FORTA throughout the first half of 2020 and, five years later, he continues to consider as a basic premise to commit "in a determined way to all of us who are part of FORTA working to continue with the digital transformation of regional public radio and television stations. I believe that this should be one of the lines of action to compete, which will give us guarantees in an increasingly competitive audiovisual market, with more actors and other forms of on-demand consumption."

For the general director of RTVA and president of FORTA, "the role of regional television today is fundamental due to its proximity to citizens through programs and news, in which what happens in their territory is faithfully and closely reflected. Our challenge must be for citizens to see us as authentic windows to reality and diversity, without forgetting the support for cinema, audiovisual creation and production."
