Ross Video launches version 9 of its XPression graphics platform
The new version includes more than forty new features ranging from extended font management, improvements to the data-driven graphical content tool DataLinq and content acquisition
Ross Video throws at the doors of IBC 2019 version 9 of its real-time motion graphics platform XPression, which includes more than forty new features ranging from extended font management, enhancements to data-driven graphical content tool DataLinq and content acquisition starting in traditional desktop layout software to output control of multiple XPression graphics engines.
When it comes to creating highly efficient workflows to get content from concept to viewer, XPression is a part of the process every step of the way.
The capacity of import Adobe Photoshop files and its associated layers will help more directly realize the vision of an art director starting the design process at the desktop. With version 9.0, these files can be imported directly into XPression and provide precise positioning on the screen and maintain the order of layers and groups designed by the artist.
Patrick Twomey, director of XPression product marketing, highlights that "each new version of our XPression software has a major impact on customer workflows. Version 9.0 introduces powerful new workflow tools to nearly everyone who touches XPression in their daily tasks, no matter how remote."
A new edition of remote sequencer XPression is also part of this version of XPression 9.0. The new remote sequencer continues to offer full linear XPression playout that runs through a highly efficient one-touch workflow. For better control, however, Remote Sequencer now provides extended broadcast control of rundowns at the level of individual channels and Take IDs.
Additionally, the flexibility of direct access to individual take IDs in the remote sequencer has been expanded to allow users to modify the content of Take Items and channel assignments directly, before going on air. The perfect XPression Project Server and Scene Manager integration will allow new Take Items to be added to the broadcast sequence at the last second, which contributes to the success of the production.
