Thierry Fautier (UHD Forum) highlights that 2019 is the year in which 4K has reached its maturity

"8K is not at the same level of maturity as 4K, and it is not yet as widely deployed internationally. We must continue advancing in 8K and observing its evolution," estimates Fautier.
The UHD World Forum held its European meeting in September in Amsterdam, and in November in Malaga it will present its conclusions to the international community during the 4K Summit 2019.
The Korean multinational Samsung surprised at the 2018 4K Summit with its 8K television that is already on sale in many countries around the world, although content produced in 8K is still scarce.
However, the JTokyo Olympic uegos July 2020 will be a milestone in the production, recording and distribution of 8K content, as Japanese national television NHK has announced that it will make a major deployment of this new technology.
