Vaca Films shoots 'Hasta el cielo' with Daniel Calparsoro

This thriller of robberies and strong emotions is written by Jorge Guerricaechevarría and stars Miguel Herrán, Carolina Yuste and Luis Tosar.

Madrid, Ibiza and Valencia are the filming locations for up to the sky, the new feature film Daniel Calparsoro. Miguel Herrán, Carolina Yuste and Luis Tosar star in this thriller of robberies and strong emotions along with Asia Ortega, Patricia Vico, Fernando Cayo, César Mateo and newcomer Richard Holmes.

The day Ángel spoke with Estrella in that nightclub, his life changed forever. After a fight with Poli, the girl's possessive boyfriend, he discovers that Ángel has a talent for getting into trouble and, most importantly, getting out of it. For this reason, he encourages him to join a gang of robbers that has the entire Madrid police in check and turns his existence into all or nothing.

Ángel begins to climb rapidly in a pyramid of robberies, black money, shady deals and corrupt lawyers that will lead him to be cornered by Duque, a tireless detective who will not stop until he ends his career. Disregarding the advice of his people, Ángel manages to rise to become Rogelio's protégé, one of the guys who controls the city's black market. With him and Sole, the boss's daughter, Ángel will discover that the price of power is high and that he will soon have to decide between his future as a robber and the love of his life, Estrella. A journey that began in the dirtiest of suburbs and whose main objective is the highest.

This is the synopsis of the film, which Daniel Calparsoro defines as “a thriller of robberies and strong emotions, a playful and fast-paced film, with a social background that narrates the adventures of criminals raised behind the cranes of the real estate bubble, behind the opportunities, and who have turned theft into an art, a way to achieve the pleasures and luxuries that our society offers, but which are reserved for a few.”

The film, which is about to conclude filming, features the participation as supporting actors of some of the most followed rappers of the moment: Ayax, Dollar Selmouni, Olmo (Jarfaiter), Ramseys and Carlytos Vela.

Written by Jorge Guerricaechevarría, produced by Vaca Films with the participation of RTVE, Movistar+ y Telemadrid, and the support of ICAA (Ministry of Culture) and Programa Media, the film will be distributed in Spain by Universal Pictures International Spain and internationally by PlayTime Group (France).
