Netflix and Alea Media will film the series 'Salvador'

Netflix will produce alongside That Media, 'Salvador', his new drama series created by Aitor Gabilondo, directed by Daniel Calparsoro and starring Luis Tosar and Claudia Salas.

The filming of this new project will take place in Madrid and will begin in September. It tells the story of a father who discovers that his daughter belongs to a neo-Nazi group, which he has to approach to try to rescue her and understand what has brought her there. During a violent confrontation agreed between the radical fans of two soccer clubs, Salvador Aguirre, an ambulance driver, rescues his injured daughter Milena, a member of the ultra group, which defends racist, violent and homophobic values, totally opposite to those he instilled in her.

Atitor Gabilondo comments that “we present Salvador in a sociocultural context in which many extremist debates that seemed outdated are being revived. Luis Tosar embodies the confusion of the reasons that lead many young people to feel attracted to an extreme right-wing group in the face of his own daughter's drift, and he wonders what has happened and what he can do. This project addresses issues such as immigration, extremism, crime and the lack of future.”

"Salvador also fulfills for me the old wish of working with Daniel Calparsoro, whom I have known since his short film WC and whose gaze, between stark and compassionate, suits Salvador's story so well. To complete the dream, I am going to have the opportunity to work with Luis Tosar, the most fascinating sad energy in Spanish cinema," he adds.

Atitor Gabilondo (Silence, Entrevías, Homeland) will serve as executive producer of the series.
