Castilla-La Mancha will be the first autonomous community in Spain in which 4K broadcasts can be received in all its main cities.

This Wednesday the First 4K emissions in Castilla-La Mancha, fruit of the collaboration of RTVE, CMM and Telecom-Castilla-La Mancha. 4K emissions substantially improve the quality and sharpness of the image, multiply by four the definition provided by HD and are configured as the natural evolution of DTT, the open, universal and free television platform for all citizens.

Castilla-La Mancha 4KRTVE participates in this initiative with the aim of sharing technological aspects of this new technology with Telecom-Clm, through the RTVE Chair-Polytechnic University of Madrid, and contributing a large amount of 4K audiovisual content for emission. Among them are the series of World Heritage Cities and the Prado Museum. RTVE will be present in this first broadcast with the chapter dedicated to Toledo, of the Series Cities Heritage of Humanity.

CMM is involved by facilitating 4K content of nature and environmental protection, especially for the care of biodiversity and the water resources of Castilla-La Mancha.

Telecom-Clm, during the first months of 2020, will extend these emissions to all capitals in the region, so it will be the First Autonomous Community of Spain in which 4K broadcasts can be received in all its main cities, reaching a higher coverage 50% of the population.

In Toledo, the channel used for these new emissions is the canal 35 And the citizens who tune them through their individual or collective antenna, once adapted, can see the best 4K images available for Castilla-La Mancha.

The emissions are made under the provisions of the new National Technical Plan of the DTT (RD391/19) and have an experimental character with the aim of promoting technological innovation in television audiovisual services, using ultra high definition with advanced video formats such as HEVC and through transmitting equipment of greater spectral efficiency, with evolution to DVB-T2.

To the event is the assistance of the president of the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page; Samuel Martín Mateos, director of the 2 of RTVE; The director of CMM, Carmen Amores; and the director of Telecom-Clm, Wenceslao Sánchez.
