Salvador Calvo closes an agreement with Boomerang TV to develop new fiction projects
The director of films such as 'The Last of the Philippines' will be linked to the production company where he already worked as director of 'Personal Reasons', 'El padre de Caín', 'Hermanos', 'The Mysteries of Laura' or 'Ours I'.

Under this agreement, Calvo will also work on the development of film projects, an area in which he has received great recognition with his latest works. the movie The last of the Philippines earned him the Goya nomination for Best New Director in 2016 and None is up for the Goya this year in the category of Best Fiction Short Film. In addition, at the end of January it will premiere Adu, a film starring Luis Tosar and Anna Castillo.

A prolific career
Salvador Calvo has a degree in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid. He studied directing actors with the filmmaker Pilar Miró and later with the actress and director Alicia Hermida at La Barraca. He complemented his training by studying Interpretation with Juan Carlos Corazza and studied Animation and Storyboard for two years at the “Fastasma” Academy.
His last work, Adu, will be in theaters on January 31, 2020. With its short film None It has obtained great recognition at festivals and, in addition to the Goya nomination, it has been a finalist at the Forqué Awards in the category of Best Fiction Short Film. In 2016 he filmed his first film 1898 The Last of the Philippines with great success among the public and critics, obtaining nine Goya nominations, including New Director.
His works of fiction include: Cain's father, Ours, Brothers, Personal reasons, The mysteries of Laura, Stolen children, Alakrana y What their eyes were hiding, among other titles.
