Luis Santamaría will lead the Fiction division at Boomerang TV

Boomerang TV reinforces its scripted strategy with the appointment of Luis Santamaría as general director of the Fiction Area. In his new position, Santamaría will report to CEO Jaime Ondarza.

The Mediawan group company thus recognizes the work carried out by the executive, who has successfully led the Fiction division in the last two years, promoting numerous productions that have become industry benchmarks. His appointment represents a strategic step to enhance the growth of the company and face new challenges in an increasingly competitive audiovisual landscape.
Among the most recent titles produced under the leadership of Santamaría are Losing judgment, which has just won the Vitoria Festival Award, and Entre tierras, the most watched series in Spain in 2024, which has just finished filming its second season. Upcoming releases also include La Suerte, a Disney+ series directed by Paco Plaza and Pablo Guerrero, which will debut in the official section of the San Sebastián International Film Festival.

Global Strategy
Boomerang TV's Fiction Area is also reinforced with the creation of Cut One, a new brand that responds to an ambitious expansion strategy that aims to consolidate Boomerang TV's positioning in all Scripted genres and establish itself as one of the most complete and competitive production companies in the Spanish audiovisual sector. In line with this strategy, Boomerang TV is currently working on notable film projects that are in different phases of production.
Cut One will be led by Rafael Taboada. With extensive experience as executive producer at Movistar+ and Amazon MGM Studios, he joins Boomerang TV, reinforcing the team made up of highly experienced executives who have become a benchmark in the Spanish audiovisual sector. From Cut One, Taboada will contribute to diversifying the content offering and expanding the company's reach to new audiences and platforms.
Boomerang TV thus strengthens its role within Mediawan, Europe's leading independent Studio, recognized for its talent-focused DNA and creative ecosystem that drives both artistic excellence and commercial success.
