Lawo introduces important improvements to its VSM control system

Theirs lanzará el próximo verano la versión 2020-2 de su popular sistema de control VSM. La compañía alemana introduce así importantes mejoras en uno de los sistema de control sobre IP más extendidos en instalaciones de todo el mundo.

La nueva funcionalidad Flow State Master defines VSM ensures that an IP infrastructure is in a determining routing state at all times. Additionally, it automatically restores this state after partial or total outages in the network infrastructure, bringing a new level of operational security to IP production environments.

Another great add-on service for multi-studio installations with frequent changes to studio setup is the functionality Wallboxing, which allows devices to be moved across an API-controlled IP infrastructure and maintain flow connectivity. In a large-scale production facility, devices such as stageboxes, monitors, teleprompters are likely to be moved around a lot… Wallboxing ensures that existing IP links are reestablished when a device connects to a switch port at the new location.

Con Network Bridging, two or more independent IP installations controlled by VSM will be able to share relevant sources. Whenever a network infrastructure needs to access selected sources from another network infrastructure, VSM will facilitate this with a minimum of configuration efforts, while preserving most of the functionality exposed to operational workflows.

The operator will mark the sources as “shared”, so that system operators can access those signals for local use. The interconnection lines between the systems are automatically and silently managed by VSM, based on the actual signal consumption in the connected facilities. Typical applications are country-wide facility connections, connections from the mobile unit to central studios and, increasingly, also mobile unit-to-mobile connections.
