Orange TV premieres 'Caminantes', its first fiction series in Spain

Produced by 100 Balas, the series has been shot in 4K quality with latest generation smartphones whose parameters have been manually configured through an application.

Orange TV will premiere next July 10 the first two episodes of the series Walkers, a horror story set in the Camino de Santiago, created and written by José A. Pérez Ledo and directed by Koldo Serra.

Filmed with the latest generation smartphones, the series is narrated using the “found footage“, which is used as a narrative resource to reconstruct the steps of five missing young pilgrims

Walkers, Orange's first original fiction series, produced together with 100 Balas (The Mediapro Studio) will premiere exclusively on the Orange TV television platform on the night of Friday, July 10, late night, with the premiere broadcast of the first two episodes. The next day, Saturday, July 11, you can enjoy the complete series, eight installments of 20 minutes each, which will hook viewers with the narration, at a frenetic pace, of what happened to a group of five young pilgrims, who disappeared while walking the Camino de Santiago.

Created and written by José Antonio Pérez Ledo (Laika orbit, Apollo Station) and directed by Koldo Serra (The Paper House, The Ministry of Time, 70 Binladens, Guernika), Walkers bets on the horror genre with a suspense plot whose main narrative resource is the “found footage” technique, where the captures made with the protagonists' cell phones, located two months after their trace has been lost, form the guiding thread of the story to try to find out what has happened to them.

4K con smartphones

To provide more realism to this technique, the entire part of the fiction that reconstructs the story of the five missing people has been shot in 4K quality with latest generation smartphones, specifically two iPhone 11 and two iPhone 10 XS, whose parameters have been manually configured through an application to use them as if they were professional cameras. In addition, applications and filters have been used, very common among the youngest, which here are also put at the service of the story, transforming its friendly tone into a terrifying element.

The main protagonists of the series are the five missing young people, played by Daniel Ibáñez, Alexandra Pino, Carlos Suárez, Songa Park and Lucas Miramón. Additionally, the actors Eguzki Zubia, Pako Revueltas, Javier de Córdova and Guillermo de Córdova complete the cast.

Set in the part of the Camino de Santiago that runs through the Irati Forest, in Navarra, Walkers It was filmed last autumn in different locations in Bizkaia, such as Gorbeia, the Munibe Palace, the Otzarreta beech forest and the Markina pilgrim hostel.
