'Nieva en Benidorm', by Isabel Coixet, opens the Seminci

RTVE, official sponsor of the contest, will present a wide variety of co-produced documentaries in different sections.

It snows in Benidorm inaugurates this Saturday the 65th Valladolid International Film Week (Seminci). Timothy Spall, Sarita Choudhury, Pedro Casablanc, Ana Torrent and Carmen Machi star in this story of a man obsessed with weather phenomena that hits theaters on November 13 and is presented out of competition in the Official Selection. Your director, Isabel Coixet, will receive the competition's Spike of Honor at the opening gala.

The festival also hosts the RTVE Gala for the third consecutive year, in which the Corporation presents a participating title before its theatrical release. The tape chosen this edition is The year of fury, a Hispanic-Uruguayan co-production by Rafa Russo, which premieres on Sunday the 25th at the Teatro Zorrilla. A thriller set in the Uruguayan dictatorship in the 70s with Alberto Ammann, Joaquín Furriel, Daniel Grao, Martina Gusman, Maribel Verdú, Sara Sálamo and Miguel Ángel Solá.

RTVE, official sponsor of the contest, will also present a wide variety of co-produced documentaries in different sections. In History Time, angels with sword, by Javier Rioyo; under the silence, determination of Arts; gam Words for the end of the world, by Manuel Menchón.

In Doc España they will be Antonio Machado: The blue days, by Laura Hojman; Discovering José Padilla, by Marta Figueras and Susana Guardiola; The fire child, by Ignacio Acconcia; The longest journey by Manuel H. Martín; Stolen time. Thomas Salvador, by Juan Carlos Rivas Fraile, and Traitors, directed by Jon Viar.

In other sections you will see Anatomy of a dandy, by Charlie Arnaiz and Alberto Ortega; and León Felipe, the pilgrim poet, by Agustín Remesal.
