LaLiga y Mediapro have incorporated into their broadcasts a large sensor mirrorless camera, which provides viewers with a Image quality similar to that of a movie or video game, in addition to a sensation as realistic as if you were in the stands of the stadium or a few meters from the players.

The system is based on a camera Sony A7S II (with 35 mm sensor), with a optics Zeiss 55mm. allows a shutter 50 diaphragm 2.8 Iso 100, with a color temperature of 4800K and a dynamic range for Gamma HLG/ Color 709. It is mounted on a gimbal Zhiyun Crane 3s.

This type of camera is usually used to record extra content, such as the arrivals of players and fans at the stadium, but until now it had never been used live with a wireless link, becoming another camera for the official transmission of the competition.

This new equipment captures an image with very shallow depth of field thanks to the 35mm sensor, thus obtaining a very different result from the rest of the cameras in the broadcast. A background blurring effect is produced in video, very similar to the portrait-type photographs that some mobile phones take.

In addition, it incorporates a stabilizing support similar to that of the steady-cam, which together provides a very cinematic visual sensation, also comparable to the image of a video game.

A pioneering initiative that debuted in tests in Valencia CF – CA Osasuna on matchday 19 and FC Barcelona – Athletic Club on matchday 21. LaLiga viewers will have the opportunity to enjoy this very realistic image quality in the best matches of each matchday.
