John Honeycutt replaces Naomi Climer as head of IBC
Honeycutt has held various senior positions over the last three decades at media companies such as Discovery Communications, Fox, Google and Liberty Media.
IBC announced today that John Honeycutt will assume the position of president of his Advice with immediate effect. A respected business strategist and technology pioneer, he has significant international experience in all aspects of the media industry, and has held senior positions at media companies such as Discovery Communications, Fox Cable Networks, Google and Liberty Media.
Although he has been a member of the IBC Council since 2014, he will now guide the organization as it defines its strategic vision for the future of events and continues its mission to facilitate growth across the media, entertainment and technology industry.
Honeycutt highlights that "IBC's purpose is to drive thought leadership and innovation across the broadcast and media industry. At the core of this mission is IBC's ability to bring people together to share information and knowledge. IBC's inclusive approach, by the industry, for the industry, ensures that it is a positive catalyst for growth and progress."
“I am very excited to take on the presidency at a time when the IBC has the opportunity to reinvent itself to meet the needs of the industry as it emerges from the challenges of COVID,” he adds.
John Honeycutt succeeds Naomi Climer, who has held the IBC presidency for the last five years. It has been a pleasure to work with him, and the rest of the IBC Council, over the past few years. “I am pleased to pass the baton to someone so deeply rooted in the media and entertainment industry and who has a clear vision for the future,” commented Climer.
Michael Crimp, CEO of IBC, wanted to "thank Naomi for her dedication to service. She has been instrumental in modernizing and renewing our organization and leading us through this difficult COVID-19 period. I am delighted that John will take on the presidency. I look forward to working together to shape the future of the IBC and exploring new ways of collaborating with our colleagues in the media industry to create connections and value."
