The Xarxa Audiovisual Local updates its contribution network to high definition
Sapec brings together the know-how of different technological partners such as Telefónica, TSA, Nevion and XAL itself, to manage, install, put into operation and now update the contribution of the Catalan network.
The Local Audiovisual Network (XAL) are updating their contributions to deliver television signal high definition (HD). For this, Telefónica Audiovisual Services (TSA) has renewed the equipment Sapec existing in the XAL.
XAL's television contribution network uses model encoders High II and model decoders Gredos from the Spanish manufacturer. All associated local television stations transport the content through the Telefónica IP network. More than fifty local television stations receive their content through XAL. Furthermore, more than half of these television stations contribute their own content to the Xarxa signal.
These contributions are managed by the orquestador VideoIpath of Nevion, allowing XAL and TSA complete management of all equipment in the TV contribution network. Using VideoIPath, Currently the VideoIPath system is managing more than 3000 monthly connections and disconnections automatically after programming.
It is worth highlighting the network of IP Multicast transport from Telefónica, which allows content to be sent to several or all associated television stations simultaneously and consuming less bandwidth.
From now on, these contributions have the capacity to be made in both SD and HD, something that some television stations and XAL itself were already demanding to improve the quality of their broadcasts.
