'The girls' will represent Spain at the 63rd edition of the Ariel Awards
The film directed by Pilar Palomera will be the Spanish production that will compete this year for the awards promoted by the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences.
After being one of the winning films at the Goya, the Film Academy has announced that The girls, of Pilar Palomero, has been chosen to represent Spain in the 63rd edition of the Ariel Awards, in the Best Ibero-American Film section.
In a brief event held this Tuesday at the institution's headquarters, its president, Mariano Barroso; Azucena Rodríguez, representative of the Spanish Academy in FIACINE (Ibero-American Federation of Film Academies); and the notary Federico Garayalde Niño announced that Pilar Palomero's debut feature, winner of four Goyas, will be the Spanish production competing this year for the awards promoted by the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences.
