Avid and LiveU enable secure remote IP contribution via MediaCentral Stream
LiveU and MediaCentral Stream live streaming solutions simplify the contribution of IP from remote locations to the MediaCentral platform.
Avid has closed a strategic agreement with LiveU to allow the IP stream ingestion for TV news and remote live TV production on the platform MediaCentral. This collaboration with LiveU builds on Avid's strategy to simplify on-premise and cloud production workflows and provide unprecedented openness for broadcasters and content providers.
MediaCentral is an open media workflow platform with an ecosystem of strategic partners that seamlessly integrates LiveU as well as Haivision and other cameras or devices enabled SRT, encoders and mobile applications. Broadcasters and content providers that use MediaCentral Stream, Avid's IP stream ingestion solution for TV news and remote live TV production, can now directly ingest live content from LiveU in your workflows.
This new capability provides a cost-effective and fast way to securely send streams over the Internet, generated by LiveU field units using the LRT (LiveU Reliable Transport) secure protocol delivered directly to Avid production environments.
With LiveU's cloud-based solutions, media companies can accept incoming LRT flows from any field unit, distribution platform IP LiveU Matrix or LiveU's existing portable field units with the cloud integration module. This interoperability, combined with MediaCentral Stream, provides broadcasters with a fast, seamless and cost-effective way to ingest IP content into MediaCentral, so they can quickly bring live content and news to audiences across linear and digital platforms.
