Swiss national broadcaster SRF has decided to continue trusting in subscription software Avid MediaCentral and Media Composer to improve your news production operations.

After more than 15 years as a customer of Avid, SRF has taken an important step forward to future-proof its production operations, updating the latest versions of the production platform MediaCentral and editing solution Media Composer.

Production operations and equipment SRF are distributed in two great studies located in Zurich and Basel. Beyond the solution with MediaCentral Production Management, this infrastructure includes shared storage Avid Nexus, which allows the production team SRF share media over the network and collaborate in real time from anywhere, as well as editing software Avid Media Composer Ultimate. Although everything is installed in the Zurich campus of SRF, the rest of the studios are capable of connecting remotely through the company's own network infrastructure.

The core of the new workflow Avid es MediaCentral, which offers native integration with Media Composer as well as optional integrations with third-party tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro. The flexibility this provides means that SRF will be well positioned to easily adapt to your evolving workflow needs.

Andreas Lattmann, SRF technology management director, comments on the benefits that Avid's revamped workflow will bring to their daily operations: "We produce a huge amount of programming each year, which means our distributed production teams are constantly under pressure to deliver high-quality content with fast turnaround times. Avid's MediaCentral allows us to do exactly that. Our teams have access to the tools and functionality they need to do their jobs effectively, with scalability and the best possible support in case something goes wrong. After so many years of working together, “We are delighted to take this next step with Avid.”

Tom Cordiner, Avid CRO, also highlights the benefits of this subscription-based software: "SRF now has access to all key functionality in a unified package, with the ability to quickly allocate resources as needed. We are delighted that SRF has chosen to leverage our long-standing relationship and look forward to seeing how it continues to evolve."
