Avid's MediaCentral now supports CGI's OpenMedia
The MediaCentral content platform of Avid becomes integrated with OpenMedia, a solution for journalistic workflows developed by CGI.
OpenMedia joins NRCS platforms already compatible with MediaCentral as ENPS y Octopus, thus converting the product of Avid into a flexible tool that adapts to the vast majority of journalistic environments. Thanks to this integration, users can collaborate remotely, accelerate workflows and produce content faster without having to change their writing system.
To meet these goals, newsrooms can benefit from features like “ultra-fast search,” which allows teams to find the story content they need “when they need it”; or the editing tool Media Composer. Likewise, multi-platform distribution capabilities will allow stories to be delivered to news media followers and viewers with greater flexibility.
Workflow Optimization
Raúl Alba, director of product management at Avid, details the firm's goal with this integration: "Avid's innovation strategy for newsrooms focuses on driving greater openness to help customers get more performance from their infrastructure. By opening MediaCentral to a greater number of newsrooms, we are putting the platform's extensive capabilities within the reach of journalists."
“They can start working immediately (without the need for extensive training, loss of productivity or any complications associated with implementing a new NRCS) and gain the ability to create better content faster directly within the systems they already rely on,” adds the manager.
On the other hand, Michael Pfitzner, vice president of newsroom solutions of CGI, highlighted: “The integration of OpenMedia into the MediaCentral platform allows editorial teams to unify their news planning and production workflow with Avid's next-generation production platform to achieve a comprehensive and seamless user experience.”
