Lluis Quílez (‘Bajocero’) will direct ‘El Salto’, produced by Cine365 Films

Cine365 Films has started production of The Jump, the new film by Lluis Quílez. The director takes on a new challenge after achieving with Bajocero the best Spanish-speaking premiere in the history of Netflix.

The Jump, with a script signed by Flora González Villanueva (The Cable Girls, Six Sisters), based on a text that won the Julio Alejandro 2015 award, reflects the situation experienced by sub-Saharan migrants.

In statements of Luis Quílez: “The Jump is a social thriller that narrates the adventures of a group of characters whose experiences revolve around the border fence between Morocco and Spain. The Jump It delves into classic themes such as the fight for survival, the search for a new homeland or the defense of universal human rights. It is a social drama narrated with important doses of suspense and action. A fruitful career

The Catalan director, graduated in CHESS, began his cinematographic career by directing short films that had an important international run as The Next, which received 17 international awards. In 2015, his first fiction feature film as a director premiered at the Tribeca Festival, Out of the dark. His second feature film Bajocero, a claustrophobic action thriller, places him as one of the most prominent directors on the current Spanish film scene.

Cine365 Films, will produce The Jump during the next few months. The independent production company is currently filming The house among the cacti.
