Alicia Zamora, human resources director of Mediaset Spain, has presented in the panel 'Reimagining the future workplaces' in Talent Day How the media group has reacted and restructured itself as a result of Covid-19.

In this event, organized by the specialized publication Teams and Talent in hybrid format at the facilities of the Queen Museum Sofia, Zamora has highlighted his preference for models hybrids in the future “post-pandemic”: “I am committed to digitalization and humanization, the latter aspect that must never be lost sight of, in work centers with spaces that allow co-creation meetings to be held between teams, regardless of whether each sector has to adjust to its demands and needs.”

Her colleagues at the round table (Marta Sempere, People & Culture Vicepresident de Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Iberia; Aranxa García, South Europe Transformation Manager de Danone; y Belén die, Human Resources Senior Director South West Europe of PepsiCo) have reaffirmed the need to create in the future versatile, flexible and more sustainable spaces. In the same way, they bet on the creation of mixed work models that combine in-person assistance with teleworking; and the acquisition and retention of talent in these new hybrid models.

Within the framework of Talent Day, Zamora has taken stock of the main measures adopted by Mediaset to convert the company's facilities into a safe space: "At Mediaset España we have faced the pandemic through four levers: prevention and employee health, business viability, the digitalization of processes and the implementation of collaborative computer systems. Regarding the first of them and after the shock of the night of March 13, 2020, in which the State of Alarm was decreed and we were recognized as an essential service, I would like to highlight our ability to adapt all resources and strategies and set up a device that would allow people to go to work the next day.”

“We relocated 66% of the workforce, more than 1,000 workers, in one week, something that was not easy at all, especially in areas such as Programs or News, in which employees had to be technologically equipped so that they could access the image bank, edit or send the videos for broadcast,” he specifies.

Mediaset has opted to adapt the facilities by installing separation screens and distribution points for masks and protective equipment. Even so, Zamora highlights that the digitization and collaborative tools have been crucial during the period: “We have extended the digital signature throughout the company and reinforced cybersecurity, security procedures, compliance and data protection. In addition, we have implemented online tools, provided remote access to equipment and distributed the necessary equipment to employees.”

“All of this has been a great challenge that has led us to obtain the AENOR certificate (Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification) for our prevention systems against COVID-19, but what satisfies us most and leaves us most at ease is when a colleague tells us that they have felt very safe and protected in our facilities,” he concluded.
