Filmoteca Española will manage its collections with Axiell technology
Spanish Film Archive has acquired Axial Collections, a Swedish document management system that will be installed in its Conservation and Restoration Center in Madrid.
This technology will allow you to modernize the management of your collections, optimize workflows, adapt to international regulations that apply to these film archives and improve public access to your catalog for researchers.
The management system developed by the Swedish company Axiell will transform the way in which its funds, which are made up of about 40,000 titles and 240,000 audiovisual documents.
Laura Carrillo, Head of the Documentation and Cataloging Service at Filmoteca Española, comments that "we currently use a self-developed database that has become obsolete and presents standardization problems. With Axiell Collections we will be able to modernize our approach and improve the overall management of our collections, adapting to the guidelines of the FIAF (International Federation of Film Archives) and the EN 15907 standard, for film identification and improving metadata interoperability."
“Public access to our catalog will provide users and researchers with more complete and reliable information about our film heritage,” he added.
