Multicam LaLiga

LaLiga has begun to offer the new multi-camera signal in its broadcasts, a production made by Mediapro, which is made up of four signals on a single split screen, as well as a real-time statistics module, extracted from the Mediacoach game data analysis system.

Ignacio Fernández-Vega, Director of Sports at Movistar+, highlights that "on the one hand, we continue to improve the broadcast of the match on its main channel and in parallel we produce a second channel in which we will carry out a broadcast with several camera shots for the television and the multi-device, in which we want to enrich the customer experience by offering in real time several camera shots of the same play with informative graphics. Our clients do not give up anything."

"LaLiga is the best audiovisual sports product in the world and we are always looking for innovations to be at the forefront of sports broadcasting. With the Multiscreen Signal we take a new step forward by offering our fans a new and exciting way to enjoy LaLiga Santander entertainment," he states. Melchior Soler, director of the Audiovisual Area of LaLiga.

This signal will be based on the master camera plan, complemented by statistics and 3D graphics from Mediacoach, as well as plans of the special cameras. The multi-camera, in addition to the master camera, will be complemented by three more: a camera with a close-up image of the ball and the player carrying it at all times; a camera that will follow the game from the goals, thanks to the mini-goal cameras and the high-bottom cameras, which will allow a higher plane; and a bench monitoring camera, which will alternate shots of the home and visitor benches.

The multi-screen experience, developed by LaLiga together with Mediapro, will be available every day in three LaLiga Santander matches.

Film Camera and FanCam

The multi-screen joins audiovisual innovations from the last season such as the cinematographic camera or the new FanCam, which will now be present in all LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank stadiums.

The FanCam comes down to the pitch and is also installed in all LaLiga SmartBank stadiums this year. The success of the FanCam, which arrived in 2021 to alleviate the absence of public in the stadiums and connect fans with the players, has made this camera a fixture in the competition broadcasts.

The cinematographic camera will also repeat this season, a large sensor mirrorless camera providing ultra-realistic image quality similar to a video game or movie.

Finally, as is now usual, the broadcasts will also feature this season with aerial cameras in 16 stadiums, 360º replays or robotic cameras in the locker room tunnels.
