Movistar+ and Filmax present Pau Freixas' new series 'Everyone Lies' at FesTVal
Within the framework of Festival, the Vitoria-Gasteiz Television Festival, Filmax has presented everyone lies, an original series Movistar+ created and directed by Pau Freixas that will premiere next December.
The presentation this Thursday in Vitoria was attended by Pau Freixas, director and creator of the series; Fran Araújo, executive producer of the series at Movistar+; Carlos Fernandez, CEO of Filmax and a large part of the cast, Irene Arcos, Lucas Nabor, Natalia Verbeke, Eva Santolaria, Amaia Salamanca, Jorge Bosch and Berta Castañé.
Araújo has acknowledged that “releasing a series with Pau Freixas was something we very much wanted,” and has defined this production as “a roller coaster on which you get on in episode one and wonder where Pau is going to take us.”
For his part, Carlos Fernández stated that “this production was made in the middle of the pandemic and an excellent production was made.” Furthermore, he highlighted the great work of Pau Freixas: “Pau has ideas, but he puts energy and life into making those ideas come to fruition.”
Freixas has spoken of everyone lies like “a trip” that he has taken very comfortably. And he stressed that his idea was to “make a thriller with dramatic elements, but also comedy.” In this sense he added: "We have tried to make different genres coexist, which is also why the importance of this cast, who are actors known to everyone, capable of going from drama to comedy. It is a luxury to work with them."
The thriller with 6 45' chapters is written by Pau Freixas, Iván Mercadé, Clara Esparrach and Eva Santolaria and presents the story of Macarena, who sleeps with her best friend's son and someone uploads the video to the internet. That day, the life of Belmonte, a peaceful upper-class urbanization, turns upside down. From there, a frenetic chain of consequences makes all its inhabitants face their miseries and deepest secrets.
Friends who hate each other, children with parallel lives, scam marriages, unexpected lovers, Japanese knives that change hands, marital crises, and to complicate everything a little more, a terrible murder. A mystery that will not be easy to unravel because no matter who you ask, they all lie...
