Vitec absorbs the corporate and hotel video distribution area of Anevia (Ateme)
Flamingo, the corporate and hotel video distribution business of Anevia that marketed Atem, becomes part of the catalog of Vitec.
With this movement, together with the acquisition of Exterity in April 2021, Vitec seeks to position itself as a world leader in IPTV solutions for businesses and hospitality. Atem, for its part, will focus more deeply on its core business area: offering video distribution software for broadcast, cable, DTH, IPTV and OTT.
In 2020, Ateme acquired Anevia, a leading provider of OTT and IPTV software solutions, as a means to address the growing IPTV and OTT opportunity by combining its video compression solutions with content delivery solutions from Anevia (which, by the way, has a stake acquired by Vitec in 2017). The commercial association between Ateme and Vitec It has helped, according to Vitec itself, that both parties quickly reached an agreement to optimize collaboration.
Colin Farquhar, senior vice president of sales at Vitec comments that this acquisition is “a statement of our commitment to expanding our reach in the business and hospitality markets.” “We are excited to work with Anevia to further enhance Vitec's comprehensive offering,” he adds. On the other hand, Laurent Lafarge, president and CEO of Anevia, emphasizes that this move “will free Ateme to focus on its priority OTT market through the combination of the compression solutions it already had and the content delivery solutions it acquired from Anevia.”
