Phabrix reaches 8,000 manufactured units of its Sx

The Sx test and measurement device Phabrix celebrates its 13th anniversary reaching the milestone of 8000 units manufactured.

Phabrix was created in 2005 by the former engineer of Oxtel y Miranda Phillip Adams, which had detected a gap in the market for an effective solution to test and monitor the then new signals 3G-SGI, that were beginning to have an impact on the sector. The first prototype of SxA was presented in IBC2007, and the product was launched in July of the following year and instantly won the prize Peter Wayne to innovation.

Now, 13 years later, the company continues manufacturing SxAs and, almost exclusively, continues to provide free software updates. The range of devices offered has been considerably expanded as the sector has evolved, adding models and capabilities to adapt to the change towards new broadcast formats and the migration to IP.

Wearable device use cases Phabrix have also expanded, with units operating in environments as diverse as the Sydney Opera House, Japanese Police, Paris Metro, NASA y SpaceX. The company, despite the pandemic, just recorded its most successful year to date.

In fact, one of them was made of gold and is kept in a special closet at the company headquarters. Philip Adams, CEO of the company, is betting on this occasion to manufacture the unit in plexiglass, so that you can see how the solution works; or in bamboo, since it is “recyclable and sustainable”.
