'Apagón', during filming, begins its world tour on MIPTV with Movistar Plus+ International
Movistar Plus+ International will be present in the next MIPTV (from April 4 to 6) presenting its catalog with original content of all genres such as 'Apagón', an original Movistar Plus+ series produced by Buendía Studios whose premiere is scheduled for the end of this year.
With 5 episodes of 50 minutes interconnected, this fiction addresses how a solar storm impacts the Earth causing a widespread blackout. In this new reality, five stories unfold about characters who struggle to adapt to a world without electricity, telecommunications, or means of transportation, in which they have to face their most basic needs, instincts, and fears.
The series will feature a renowned director in each of its episodes. Contributing their personal perspective will be: director Rodrigo Sorogoyen and screenwriter Isabel Peña (Anti-disturbances); the director Raúl Arévalo (Late for anger) and screenwriter Alberto Marini (The stranger, While you sleep); the director and screenwriter Isa Campo (Between the waters, Maixabel); the director Alberto Rodríguez (The Minimal Island, The Plague) and screenwriter Rafael Cobos (The Man with a Thousand Faces, The Plague); and director Isaki Lacuesta (between two waters) and the screenwriters Isa Campo (The stern skin, Maixabel) and Fran Araújo (Hierro).
The presence of the international area of Movistar Plus+ in the market, which returns with an in-person format in Cannes, provides continuity to the international expansion strategy recently announced by the company. In addition to presenting 'Apagón', the new area will expand the global market reach of other original content, including non-fiction titles such as Lola o Raphaelismo.
