Filming begins on Oliver Laxe's next film, promoted by Movistar Plus+ and El Deseo
Oliver Laxe shoots his new feature film in various locations in Aragon and Morocco, an untitled project classified as an original film Movistar Plus+ and produced in collaboration with The Desire (producer of the brothers Agustín and Pedro Almodóvar), Filmes Da Ermida, Uri Films and 4A4 Productions.
The film represents the fourth project by the Galician filmmaker, who has participated with all his previous films in the Cannes Film Festival and has been awarded on all occasions: What burns (Jury Prize of the Un Certain Regard section), Mimosas (Grand Prize of Critics' Week) and You are all captains (his first film, which earned him the FIPRESCI Award from the Directors' Fortnight). They write the film Oliver Laxe y Santiago Fillol (co-writer also with Laxe de What burns y Mimosas) and stars the Catalan Sergi López (César Award for Best Actor and European Film Award for Best European Actor for Harry, a friend who loves you), and by the young Bruno Núñez (The Messiah) together with a group of non-professional actors, something common in Laxe's films.
In the technical team, the film has great professionals among whom are Oriol Maymó (The invisible line, Who kills with iron, The next skin) in production management, Mauro Herc in photography direction (Goya Award for Best Photography for What burns), Laia Ateca (Manticore, Perfect Life, The grandmother) in art direction, Nadia Acimi (What burns, My brothers and I, Mimosas) in costume design and musician David Kangding Ray, as composer of the soundtrack.
The film will be distributed in Spain by Bteam Pictures and its international sales will be in charge of The Match Factory, a company that has led the international distribution of renowned filmmakers such as Wim Wenders, Aki Kaurismäki, Alice Rohrwacher, Marco Bellocchio, Lucrecia Martel, Fatih Akin and Michel Franco, among others.
This is the synopsis of the feature film, whose filming will last until June 16 in various locations in Aragon (alrededores de Teruel y Zaragoza) y Marruecos: “Un hombre y su hijo llegan a una rave perdida en medio de las áridas y fantasmagóricas montañas del sur de Marruecos.
