Carol Polakoff shoots 'The Voice of the Sun' in Navarra

Screenwriter, producer and director Carol Polakoff brings to the big screen The voice of the sun, with a script written with John Milarky and Natxo López, based on the novel Speak Sunlight by Alan Jolis.

During the last weeks, several points in Navarra such as Pamplona, ​​Estella or Gallipienzo are witnessing the filming of the film that transports these towns to the 60s.

Your producer, Babieka Films, has been playing a crucial role since 2013 in the development of international productions in Spain, producing, co-producing and providing production services to films such as Éxodus: Gods and Kings de 20th Century Fox; The Practitioner from Netflix; or more recently the series Dark Matter de HBO .

Great friend of the real protagonist on whom this story is based, Alan Jolis, Polakoff brings to the big screen the novel in which Jolis captured the summer that marked his life in Spain: Speak Sunlight.

Natxo Lopez (Items, Boss) is the Spanish screenwriter who, together with Carol Polakoff and John Milarky, has adapted the script for this story. Produced by Denise O´Dell, The Voice of the Sun It is supported by a cast headed by Carmen Machi, Karra Elejalde, the young actor Matteo Artuñedo and Ahikar Azcona.

The film has a renowned technical team, with José Luis Alcaine as director of photography, Lucas Vidal to musical composition, Teresa Font as responsible for the assembly, Barbara Pérez-Solero in charge of production design and Cristina Sopeña as costume designer.

The Voice of the Sun It will also be filmed in locations in Madrid, Segovia and Toledo.

The story

Paris 1965. Maruja and Manolo live in Paris after 30 years in exile from Spain. They work at the service of the family of an American ambassador: the Jolis.

This year, Maruja decides to confront her past, to do so she undertakes a trip with Manolo and Alan Jolis, to her origins: Spain. A journey in which he will have to make sure that young Alan will grow up to be a good man. In turn, Manolo and Alan will learn to enjoy their present and focus on the future. This journey will not only be physical but also deeply emotional for all of them.
