Producer José Luis Bermúdez de Castro will receive the Gold Medal at the 28 Forqué Awards
A prominent figure in the production of the 60s and 70s, José Luis Bermúdez de Castro will receive the applause of the industry from the hand of EGEDA within the framework of the Forqué Awards.
He producer and entrepreneur, linked to Spanish cinema since his childhood, will receive the recognition of EGEDA for his career dedicated to national production of a key time on December 17 during the 28th Forqué gala. Enrique Cerezo, president of EGEDA, highlights Bermudez de Castro the “commitment of this producer to Spanish cinema, and, especially, to the cinema of the 70s that has contributed so much to the history of our cinema.”
Bermúdez de Castro has worked in numerous movies, some directed by Sergio Leone, Mariano Ozores, Fernando Fernán Gómez, Javier Aguirre, Eloy de la Iglesia, Ramón Fernández, Jorge Grau and many others, in more than a hundred mostly Spanish films, as well as co-productions with other countries. Performers such as Concha Velasco, Carmen Maura, Lina Morgan, Analía Gadé, Angela Molina, Nadiuska, Pajares, Esteso, Martes y 13, José Sacristán, Arturo Fernández and Antonio Ozores have participated in their productions. In addition, the producer was the creator of the famous films of Parcheesi, a great success both in Spain and in many other countries around the world.
28 Forqué Awards
The Forqué Awards will celebrate the excellent year of the industry at the awards ceremony, which will take place on December 17 at the Municipal Palace – IFEMA Madrid, and which will have one of its most exciting moments in the presentation of the Gold Medal to José Luis Bermúdez de Castro. There will also be no lack of emotional memory of the Forqué family, which the awards that bear their last name will try to honor.
With actors Adrián Lastra and Esmeralda Pimentel as presenters, the Forqués will return in style in search of the most outstanding productions of the year. Alcarras, by Carla Simón, winner of the Golden Bear at the prestigious Berlin Film Festival, The Beasts, by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, five little wolves, by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa and Model 77, by Alberto Rodríguez, are the films that opt for Forqué Award for Best Fiction and/or Animation Feature Film, which amounts to €30,000. For their part, the works that compete for the prize for Best Fiction Series endowed with €6,000 are those already mentioned Blackout, by Fran Araújo, Stories to keep you from sleeping, update of the classic anthology by Chicho Ibáñez Serrador, The unit (T2), by Dani de la Torre and Alberto Marini and Rapa, of Pepe Coira and Fran Araújo.
In the interpretive categories, Anna Castillo (wild sunflowers), Laia Costa (five little wolves), Laura Galán (Little pig) y Susi Sánchez (five little wolves) are the candidates for Forqué for Best Female Performance in cinema; and Denis Ménochet (The Beasts), Luis Tosar (On the margins), Miguel Herrán (Model 77) y Nacho Sánchez (Manticore) are nominated for the award Best Male Performance of cinema. For their part, they are competing for the award for Best Female Performance in a Series son Anna Castillo (Easy), Itziar Ituño (Privacy), Monica Lopez (Rapa) y Natalia de Molina (Easy), while the finalists at I won for Best Male Performance in a Series son Javier Cámara (Rapa), Jesús Carroza, Luis Callejo (Blackout) y Luis Zahera (Intervías).
