Oberon Media (Mónica Lozano and Antonio Chavarrías), Wanda Vision (Miguel and José María Morales), Saga Films (Hubert Toint. Belgium) and Icon 2020 AIE, with the participation of RTVE y TV3, produce the new feature film Chavarrias, also a producer and screenwriter who in the past has directed other films such as The Chosen One, Dictation o Celia's lives.
In this film, the director and screenwriter will explore the “more human and personal” side of Emma (Daniela Brown), a young abbess who decides to assume her power to confront a patriarchal and dominant world in a society that relegated women to a socially secondary and contentless role. In the words of his director, “is a story that brings us closer to an almost unknown time, very hard and full of contradictions, to focus on the confrontation of three different, complex and antagonistic female worlds, that of Emma, Heloísa and Clara, only united by their condition as women in a world that denies them any of their rights.”
The Abbess is already filming in locations such as the Castle of Loarre (Huesca) and in the Turó de La Seu Vella, in Lleida. Completing the main cast are Blanca Romero, Carlos Cuevas, Ernest Villegas, Joaquín Notario and Oriol Genís.
